Ever wonder what all those different coverage's mean on your auto policy? Following is an explanation of each coverage part.

Bodily Injury Liability:
This portion of your policy provides coverage when you are held responsible for the injury or death of others in an automobile accident. The limits are the maximum amount you have asked the company to pay in the event of a claim. Any amount above this is your responsibility and this is the reason it is important to choose a responsible amount of coverage. For example, a common amount of coverage limits is $100,000/$300,000; this means that the company will pay up to a total of $300,000 per accident...but not more than $100,000 for any one injured person.

Property Damage Liability:
This coverage provides repair or replacement of another person's property when you are held liable for the damages as the result of a covered automobile accident. This applies to physical property such as the other person's vehicle, home, building, etc.

Un/Underinsured Motorist Liability:
This section provides protection for you, your family and your passengers for medical expenses, lost wages, and other miscellaneous expenses they suffer as the result of an accident with a legally responsible driver when that driver has no insurance, or a Bodily Injury Liability amount less than your Un/Underinsured Motorist Liability amount.

The Uninsured Motorist portion is for protection against drivers with no insurance. The Underinsured Motorist portion pays where their insurance ends up to your limits.

Other Than Collision Coverage:
This is also called Comprehensive Coverage. It pays for damage from a loss that occurred other than from a collision. For example, a tree falls on your car, fires, hail, theft, etc.

Collision Coverage:
This is the part that pays for the repair of your car when it is involved in a collision. It pays when you are responsible for the accident, or if you are hit by a driver with no insurance.

Other Coverage's:
Rental reimbursement pays for a rental car while your vehicle is being repaired when the reason is a covered accident or other than collision loss..

Towing provides reimbursement up to a set amount for expenses related to towing or emergency road service.

Both these coverage's require that at least the Other Than Collision Coverage is purchased.
